Ministries

Liturgical ministry is an excellent opportunity to fulfill your baptismal call to serve one another. Whether participation is through “behind the scenes” preparation and planning, such as preparing the environment, or through a public role of service within the Mass, from lectors who proclaim the word, to extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, to ushers and greeters who offer hospitality and direct seating and processions. Parishioner contributions help our liturgies to be truly life-giving celebrations

Altar Server

Altar servers assist at the celebration liturgy on Sundays, weekdays, major feasts, funerals, and weddings. Boys and girls from fifth grade through high school are eligible for this ministry.

Art & Environment

The Art and Environment Committee invites people with artistic sensibility and/or experience to join the committee to oversee the “decorating” of our church building during the different seasons of the year.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist with the distribution of the Eucharist at Sunday and weekday liturgies.

Lector Ministry

Lectors perform the ministry of proclaiming God’s Word, the sacred scriptures, at the liturgies.

Music Ministry

Our parish is blessed to have gifted singers and skillful instrumentalists, both professional and lay musicians, who participate in our ministry week after week. It is our goal to present music that glorifies, edifies, and ministers to the saints who worship with us. Our parish Music Ministry engages parishioners of all ages and style preferences

Hospitality Ministry

We make the Church of St. John the Baptist a welcoming community for parishioners and visitors alike. We are usually on the front lines, greeting and welcoming visitors.

Our duties revolve around weekend Masses.

We welcome worshippers into the church, equip them with materials, usher them to available seats, take up the collection, and facilitate the Offertory.
