SJB
Prymer is a Youth program whose purpose is to cultivate
the faith of the young people at St. John the Baptist
Catholic parish. Our motto is "Leading Faith-Inspired
Lives". Through the course of weekly meetings,
teens learn more about their Catholic faith through
discussion and fun. PRYMER meetings are there to act
as a haven, a safe place for young people to come together,
discuss faith, explore life issues, and socialize amongst
their own peers and mentors.
Our goal is to afford young people every
opportunity to learn and grow in their Catholic-Christian
faith. Through weekly meetings and the monthly YMass
we advocate young people to develop a personal relationship
with God through the person of His son Jesus Christ.
It must be stated that PRYMER and the
YMass are not programs to entertain young people but
rather to engage them through various events. Social
justice is essential in helping these young people become
people of faith and not "consumers" of faith. | PRYMER
is part of the new Youth and Young adult umbrella known
as the SJBYYA Office.
Headed
by the new Parish Youth director: Jon Manongdo and his
sharp team, new programs are being created and implemented
to harness and foster the power of young people.
PRYMER
caters to the youth population, while L.I.G.H.T. caters
to the young adults of the parish. SJBYYA SPIRIT and
SPORT is the new sports ministry where faith is acculturated
through the medium of sports.
