St. Francis Assisi Group

The history of Saint Francis Fiesta goes back to the Island of Guam. Each village celebrates their patron saint; Saint Francis is celebrated in the Village of Yona. Mr. Juan Taisague, the founder, and co-founders Mrs. Susan Chargulaf, Mr. Jesse Sablan, Mrs. Alice Sablan, Mr. Joaquin Ogo, Mr. Doris Ogo, Mr. Frank Concepcion, and Mrs. Teri Quint help to bring the Saint Francis Organization together. The organization was established in April of 1992. Mr. Juan Taisague did some research and was referred by an old friend to St. John's Church in Milpitas, CA.

The membership requirements were discussed with Reverend Norman Segovia, Pastor. One of the requirements is to be a member of the Saint John the Baptist Parish. Mr. Juan Taisague, Mrs. Alice Sablan, and Mr. Jesse Sablan became members of the Saint John the Baptist Parish. Since then, Saint Francis has been celebrated at the Church of Saint John's.
