Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Ministry
It has been ten blessed and grace-filled years since the Perpetual Eucharistic
Adoration (PEA) was established in St. John's Parish. The absence of an actively
functioning coordination core during the pas few months, however, saw a
continuing decrease in the number of adorers and the break in the perpetual
cycle with no one to adore the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament at certain times
daily.
An ad-hoc committee of concerned Parish adorers presented to the Parish
Priest a sign-up program that was successfully implemented last January of 2004.
A PEA Renewal to support recruitment of adorers has been set to be an annual
parish agenda.
Vision
Support a year-round enlistment of prayer guardians who commit one hour each
week covering 7x24 hours. Develop and maintain a strong organization of
coordinators division heads and captains that will promote observance of
adoration attendance and schedules. Implement spiritual nurturing program
and evangelization for the core and adorers.
Mission: St. John's Parish Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration is a Parish-wide
lay collaboration in the continuing renewal to Eucharist-centered prayer
life through perpetual adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
Organization
The key to organization is lay responsibility. The PEA is a project of the
laity who is called to holiness. It consists of adorer teams under six-hour
captains and daily division heads under the leadership of an overall
coordinator functioning under the direction and guidance of the Pastor. If
evangelization can be likened to "casting a net" (John 21:6), organizational
efforts can be likened to constructing a net that will be able to
effectively and continuously hold all the fish so that they will not slip
away.
Meeting Time
The core team meets at 7:00 PM every 1st Thursday of each month at the
Pavalkis Hall Room 2B. Day division teams or general assembly gatherings
and/or fellowship may be held every quarter, semi-annually, or as deemed
appropriate.
